Magic Millions Latest

The rich Magic Millions race day is fast approaching!

Despite being beaten for the first time in the Group 3 B.J. McLachlan Stakes, Wicked Intent has retained favouritism for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 10, 2015. A slow track and the step up to 1200m proved too much for Barry Mitchell’s previously unbeaten colt, who battled home for second behind Mishani Honcho.

A little earlier at Canterbury, Gerald Ryan's filly Perignon was impressive taking out an Open 2YO Plate over 1200m from a wide barrier. Team Hawkes also provides a leading hope in Surf Seeker , a Wanted colt which finished a close second to Zoutenant in the Wyong Magic Millions at its only start.

Before even making it to the races, Toowoomba colt Spinnaker Run was backed at long odds with Tattsbet and stands to earn a number of thrifty punters a handsome return should Michael Nolan have him right on the big day.

In the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m), Tony Gollan’s Flemington Spring Carnival winner Hijack Hussey remains at the head of TattsBet markets, despite her last start narrow defeat in the Vo Rogue Plate (1300m). Coming from a distant last, Hijack Hussey motored home only to go down by a long neck to outsider Mywayorthehighway , which has shortened dramatically.

Gary Portelli's Testashadow is the only other runner under double figures, while Bearskin has been supported at $101, $81 and $41 with TattsBet after a commanding victory in a 1000m Maiden at the Sunshine Coast on Boxing Day.
