The Strikers and Renegades clash in the Big Bash on Monday night in their final regular season match.

With just one loss in their seven Big Bash matches, the Strikers have raised eyebrows all season. With a squad that’s well-balanced with a mix of experience and youth, they’ve been the consistent outfit of the Big Bash along with second-place Perth. Kane Richardson has enjoyed another strong series in the bowling department, while Tim Ludeman remains their biggest threat with the bat. The wicket-keeper come batsman has top scored for Adelaide in three of his side’s matches, and he’s to make it four on Monday.

While top spot is on the line for the Strikers, the Renegades have their whole season at stake. Currently sitting in fifth spot, Melbourne remain the only team in the competition that can have a say in the four finals spots. If the Renegades were to win on Monday night, they would require the Stars or the Sixers to stumble in their final matches. With a net run rate .2 shy of the Sixers and .56 short of the Stars, big hitters Aaron Finch and Matthew Wade will have to come out firing and build a healthy total.

With so much at stake for both sides, it’s hard to predict an outcome despite the gap between them on the ladder. The Strikers enter Monday’s match as the slight favourites, but the Melbournians have had their admirers, with a couple of bets around the $1000 mark coming in for them in the H2H market.
