Kyrgios v Janowicz

Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre

Tuesday January 13 – 7:30 PM (AEST)

Australian superstar Nick Kyrgios looks to kick off his 2015 campaign with a bang on Tuesday (AEST) when he faces Jerzy Janowicz in Sydney.

This time last year, no one even knew who Nick Kyrgios was. This young kid from Melbourne had managed to make it through to second round of the French Open but that was about as good as it got in 2013. But 2014 was Kyrgios’ year, making it through to the second round for the Australian Open, the third round of the US Open and managed a huge upset at Wimbledon, taking down former World No.1 Rafael Nadal to advance to the Qualifying Final. His form in 2014 has him strongly backed to win his maiden Sydney International title and if he continues to produce, expect big things from the kids they call “Kicks” in 2015.

The only thing standing in Kyrgios way of a perfect start to the year is Poland’s number one tennis player, Jerzy Janowicz. The 24-year-old is another player who has started his rise up the ranks, finishing 43rd in the world at the end of 2014. Since qualifying for the ATP Tour in 2012, he has featured in all the major Grand Slams, and even managed to make it all the way through to the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2013. Last year, Janowicz came into this tournament with a second seed ranking, but failed to impress, going down in the second round to Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov in straight sets 6-2 6-2. But he managed to bounce back, making it through to the third round of all the Grand Slams bar the US Open, where he was eliminated in the second round.

Kyrgios may be heading into this match a clear favourite, but he is still young, and Janowicz continues to improve with every game he plays. While this game could go either way, TattBet customers are confident Kyrgios has the skill set to take this game in straight sets .
