Bombers fan wins off the field with $3.3 million prize!

Wednesday 24 September, 2014 - The mystery TattsLotto winner who purchased their ticket in Essendon has claimed their $3.3 million prize!

The TattsLotto win will help the avid Essendon Bombers fan cope with the end of the AFL season.

“I was actually watching the Port Adelaide - Hawthorn game on Saturday when someone reminded me the TattsLotto $20 Million Superdraw was on that night,” the winning man in his 30s explained.

“So I went down to the newsagency and bought my TattsLotto ticket at half-time.

“I support the Bombers but they didn’t get up this year so I was supporting Port Adelaide as the underdogs on Saturday. I had better luck than them on the day!”

The winner claimed his division one prize of $3,333,333.34 four days after the TattsLotto $20 Million Superdraw on Saturday.

“I checked my TattsLotto ticket on Sunday morning and couldn’t believe it – it’s still surreal. I didn’t have a chance to claim the prize until now because I was working so hard this week,” he said.

“This prize money will take care of my mortgage and I’ll treat myself to some travel overseas. I’ll look at some investment options too, but I enjoy work so I won’t give up my job.”

Tatts spokesperson Zoe Knobel said the winner couldn’t be reached following the TattsLotto draw on Saturday as they were unregistered.

“It’s great that at least one Bombers fan in Melbourne is celebrating a big win this week!” Ms Knobel said.

“We encourage players to sign-up for a Tatts Card so they can be contacted directly with that dream-come-true phone call with news of a division one win.”

The man purchased his division one winning TattsLotto18-game QuickPick ticket from Essendon Roundabout Newsagency, 85 Fletcher Street in Essendon. The winner claimed a division one prize of $3,333,333.34.

Throughout Australia, there were six entries that won a first division share of the TattsLotto $20 Million Superdraw division one prize pool on Saturday 20 September, each worth $3,333,333.34. Along with the winning entry purchased in Victoria, there was one each purchased in Tasmania, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.
