QPR  and Stoke  go toe-to-toe at Loftus Road on Saturday night (AEST) in the opening fixture of Round 5 in the EPL.

The Hoops head into Saturday’s clash having lost three out of their opening four matches and conceding a total of nine goals, the second most in the league. Harry Redknapp’s side recruited well in the offseason, but it has hardly shown in the opening stages of the new campaign. Charlie Austin is the only Rangers player to score a goal this season, and he’s favourite to find the back of the net first  on Saturday night.

Stoke have had a mix start to their 2014-15 campaign, which includes a win over champions Manchester City and a loss to competition newcomers Leicester. The Potters ended last season in ninth position on the ladder and that was largely due to their efforts in the backline. Their defensive form has continued into the new campaign, with Mark Hughes’ men conceding the second least amount of goals in the league. Their problem has been scoring goals in the opening four matches, however experienced striker Peter Crouch has the ability to change that on Saturday.

The Potters beat QPR 2-0  when the sides last met in early 2013, and the bookies have them the slightest of favourites heading into Saturday’s clash. Out of the last five matches between the sides at Loftus Road, three have ended in a 1-1  draw, and that’s the popular pick in the correct score market.
