Friday 8 August, 2014 - The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $50 MILLION for next Thursday’s draw!
Following six weeks of jackpotting, the first division prize pool has risen to a staggering $50 million.
While the $40 million division one prize eluded players last night, more than 747,000 prizes were won across Australia in divisions two to eight, with winners sharing in a total prize pool of $15.6 million.
Spokesperson Elissa Lewis said excitement is building throughout the nation as the Powerball jackpot grows.
“Around the country, 747,000 Powerball players won a prize in last night’s draw, but millions of players are now dreaming of sharing in the $50 million jackpot next Thursday,” Ms Lewis said.
“It has been more than eight months since the Powerball jackpot last reached the $50 million level.
“In the Powerball draw held on 26 December 2013, a New South Wales player took out the entire division one prize pool with a ticket they purchased from South Dubbo Newsagency in Dubbo.
“As they won their life-changing $50 million prize on Boxing Day, it made the winner’s Christmas and New Year’s celebrations especially exciting.
“Imagine having the power to change it all if you won Powerball’s $50 million jackpot draw next week!”
The numbers drawn last night in Powerball draw 951 on Thursday, 7 August 2014 were 27, 7, 32, 26, 12 and 31 and the Powerball number was 12.
The staggering $50 million Powerball jackpot draw will take place on Thursday, 14 August 2014.
