Monday 4 August, 2014 - The Brisbane northside suburb of Stafford Heights is celebrating after a 10-share store syndicate won a division one prize worth more than $400,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw!

In addition to the first division win, the syndicate of players also won other divisional prizes, making the total prize worth $420,189.47 or $42,018.95 per share.

Steve Tofoni is the owner of Stafford Heights Newsagency which started the store syndicate around 10 years ago.

“I had them phoning me on Sunday morning asking if it was true that the syndicate had won a share in first division!

“This is a battler’s area so this division one win is wonderful news for all of our customers.

“This is the first time we’ve sold a division one winning entry! Now we’re hoping for another maybe in this Thursday’s $40 million Powerball draw or Saturday Gold Lotto’s $21 Million Superdraw on Saturday.”

The winning System 10 marked Saturday Gold Lotto entry was from Stafford Heights Newsagency, Shop 8, 28 Farrant Street in Stafford Heights.

Along with the winning entry from Stafford Heights, there was another winning Queensland entry from the Gold Coast, there were three winning tickets purchased in Victoria, two each in South Australia, New South Wales and Western Australia.
