Sunday night (AEST) is the perfect opportunity for Tottenham  to avenge two heavy defeats they suffered at the hands of Liverpool  last season.

It’s been a long time since Spurs were sitting on top of the table, but that’s exactly where they find themselves following impressive wins over West Ham and QPR. Mauricio Pochettino, who took charge of the side in May, has seemingly turned the club around. Spurs have arguably been the best side in the opening two matches and he’s giving fans reason to hope. Eric Lamela has shown he possesses the class to mix it with the best in the world, already notching a couple of assists this campaign.

The Reds were outclassed by Manchester City on Tuesday morning, but this weekend they’ll unveil a face all too familiar to EPL fans. Mario Balotelli returns to England after spending last season in his home country Italy. The man known as Super Mario was picked up by Brendan Rogers at a bargain price from AC Milan, and he’s likely to make his debut in North London on Sunday night. There’s no denying the controversial Italian’s talent, and bookies have listed him amongst the favourites to score the opening goal.

The Reds demolished Spurs last year on two occasions, 4-0  at Anfield and 5-0  at White Hart Lane. Things have changed significantly since then though, and Tottenham have opened as favourites. More punters are backing Liverpool in a match that seems to be a coin flip, with the draw  also gaining support.
