Work syndicate wins $1.4 million in Saturday Lotto!

Tuesday 26 August, 2014 - Christmas may be still be four months away but one Newcastle workplace is now planning to have a cracker Christmas party after their syndicate won a $1.4 million division one prize in Saturday Lotto! 

The four-member workplace syndicate, who wish to remain anonymous, picked up a first division share in the weekend’s draw worth $1,438,292.08. 

“Whenever we have a little win, we put the prize money towards our Christmas party so we’ll be having a great celebration this year,” the syndicate leader joked. 

“The syndicate has been going for a little while. I only joined late last year so I think I’m the lucky charm!” 

“We’re aged from our 20s through to 60s so it’s a great win for everyone. I’ll use my share of our division one prize money to buy a family home!” 

The winning Saturday Lotto 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Jesmond Newsagency, Shop 54 in Stockland Mall, 28 Blue Gum Road in Jesmond. 

Throughout Australia, there were three entries that won a first division share of Saturday Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool, each worth $1,438,292.08. Along with the winning entry from Jesmond, another winning New South Wales entry was purchased in the Sydney suburb of Allambie Heights, and one winning ticket was sold in Victoria. 

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3453 on 23 August 2014 were 29, 43, 40, 11, 30 and 41 with the supplementary numbers of 2 and 4.
