It's a battle which could define the Top 4, when the North Queensland Cowboys  face the Penrith Panthers  in Sydney on Monday night.

After four straight wins, the Cowboys are playing the way everyone thought they would after winning the inaugural Auckland Nines at the start of the year. Off the back of Johnathan Thurston, who is in career-best form, they have cruised into the Top 8, and look set to challenge for a Top 4 berth. Over the past month, JT has delivered eight try assists, eight tackle breaks and has scored 56 points. Coach Paul Green has stuck with the same 17 from last week.

People have called the Panthers pretenders all year, but they're not interested in that tag! After two straight losses, the Panthers got the best of the Dragons in Wollongong on Sunday afternoon. Winger Josh Mansour was again destructive, taking 18 runs for 161 metres and making 11 tackle breaks. As always, James Segeyaro is dangerous out of dummy-half, having scored four tries in five games, and continually keeps the defence guessing.

This is the match-up of the round. With both teams in sensational form, it’s a toss of the coin as to who will walk away with the two vital premiership points.
