Monday Lotto winner’s double surprise!

Friday 15 August, 2014 - A Sydney woman was gobsmacked to discover the division two prize she thought she’d won in this week’s Monday Lotto draw was in fact a first division prize of $1 million!

The retiree, who wishes to remain anonymous, was oblivious to her new millionaire status as her NSW Lotteries Players Club card contact details were out-of-date and officials couldn’t reach her with the good news.

“I only checked my ticket yesterday and thought I’d won division two. When my daughter checked my Monday Lotto ticket she said to me, ‘You’ve got all six winning numbers!’” the excited winner exclaimed.

“I couldn’t believe I’d won first division! I’m just looking forward to being mortgage free.”

The winning 6-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Malabar Newsagency, 1205 Anzac Parade in Malabar.

It’s a timely reminder for all NSW Lotteries Players Club members to make sure they update their personal details if they change their phone number or home address, so they can be contacted by NSW Lotteries if they win a division one prize.

Throughout Australia, there were two entries that won a first division prize in Monday Lotto which offers a guaranteed division one prize of $1 million for up to four winners in each draw. Along with the winning entry purchased in Malabar, the other winning entry was purchased in Newcastle.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3372 on Monday 11 August 2014 were 3, 14, 39, 5, 26 and 25 with the supplementary numbers of 8 and 18.
