We have a winner - Calen Saturday Gold Lotto prize claimed!

Friday 1 August, 2014 - They mystery of the missing Saturday Gold Lotto first division winner in Calen has been solved with a Mackay couple coming forward late yesterday afternoon and claiming the division one prize! 

The stunned winning man told a Golden Casket official that he was completely unaware their unregistered entry had won division one and other divisional prizes totalling $489,078.39 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw until he finally checked the ticket. 

“I didn’t even know that Golden Casket had been searching for a missing winner who’d bought their ticket in Calen!” the excited winner exclaimed. 

“My wife wasn’t with me when I discovered we’d won first division so I called to tell her but she wouldn’t believe me!” 

The winners, who wish to remain anonymous, said they plan to pay off their mortgage with their Saturday Gold Lotto windfall.

The winning System 8 QuickPick was purchased at Calen Newsagency, Bruce Highway in Calen.

Throughout Australia, there were nine entries that won a first division share of Gold Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on Saturday 26 July, each worth $477,627.84. Three winning entries were purchased in Queensland, two winning tickets were sold in Victoria, one each in New South Wales and South Australia, and two were from Western Australia. 

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3445 on Saturday 26 July, 2014 were 28, 5, 7, 40, 12 and 45 with the supplementary numbers of 20 and 37.
