Sunshine Coast man wins $1 million in Wednesday Gold Lotto!

Thursday 31 July, 2014 - A Sunshine Coast man is on cloud nine today after winning a first division prize of $1 million in Wednesday Gold Lotto overnight!

The new millionaire, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he had trouble believing he’d won first division when he initially checked his Wednesday Gold Lotto entry.

“I was watching television last night and saw the draw results so I decided to check my ticket. When I realised I had all the winning numbers, I was in a state of disbelief! I checked my ticket several times before it sunk in that I’d won!” the excited winner exclaimed.

“I’m going to use my Wednesday Gold Lotto prize money to buy a new home!”

The winning Wednesday Gold Lotto 12-game marked entry was purchased from Wirreanda News, 110 King Street in Buderim.

Wirreanda News owners Joe and Anne McLaughlin were over the moon after discovering their store had sold a winning ticket in last night’s Wednesday Gold Lotto draw.

“This is the first time we’ve sold a division one winning ticket! We’re so excited and happy for our customer,” Mr McLaughlin said.

“We’re now hoping to make it two in a row by selling a division one winning entry in tonight’s $25 million Powerball draw!”
