Melbourne winners take their time to claim TattsLotto prizes!

Monday 14 July, 2014 - It seems TattsLotto players in Melbourne are very relaxed when it comes to claiming division one TattsLotto prizes as one winner came forward to claim his $708,049.82 prize one week after the draw, and another man waited a full four months to collect his $706,653.05 prize!

TattsLotto routine delays claim of Richmond riches

A division one TattsLotto prize of $708,049.82 won in Richmond last Saturday has now been claimed by a Melbourne man in his 50s.

The winner said he is in the habit of checking his TattsLotto tickets once a week and had been oblivious to his good fortune.

“I’ve played TattsLotto for around 40 years and I have a routine of checking one ticket as I buy a new one each Friday for the Saturday draw,” the winning man explained.

“This news has come at such a good time. We haven’t had the cash for a holiday in quite a few years so my wife and I will take a trip away and I’ll invest a large part of the prize money.

“My advice to anyone who’s played TattsLotto for 20 or 30 years is don’t get superstitious and think that you’re going to win in a certain week; if it’s meant to happen it will!”

The man purchased his unregistered division one winning TattsLotto 50-game QuickPick entry from Richmond TattsLotto at 308A Bridge Road in Richmond.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3439 on Saturday 5 July, 2014 were 20, 31, 5, 7, 39 and 14 with the supplementary numbers of 18 and 27.

Melbourne man “forgot” he had won TattsLotto!

Four months after a division one TattsLotto prize of $706,653.05 was won in central Melbourne, the winner has finally come forward to claim his prize.

The winner from north east Melbourne said he knew he had won the prize months ago but put his ticket away and forgot about it!

“When I checked my ticket in February and realised I’d won TattsLotto I thought I’d be excited, but it turns out I was just overwhelmed by it all,” the division one winner said.

“I locked the ticket away in a safe place so I could get my head together without doing anything irrational; I didn’t want to throw this money away. Then to be honest, I put it so far out of my mind that I forgot about it after a few months until I saw a story in the news about unclaimed prize money in Melbourne.

“Now that I have the prize money I’ve decided to pay off my debts and make some sound investments.”

The man won a first division prize of $706,653.05 with an unregistered TattsLotto 50-game QuickPick ticket purchased from Mitty’s Authorised Newsagency, 53 Bourke Street in Melbourne for TattsLotto draw 3401 on Saturday 22 February 2014.

Tickets are on sale now from all Tatts outlets and online from for this week’s $5 million Oz Lotto draw on Tuesday night and Thursday’s $10 million Powerball jackpot!
