Charity to benefit from Instant Scratch-Its $100,000 win!

Friday 11 July, 2014 - A woman from Pomona said she will be donating a portion of her $100,000 prize to charity after she scratched the top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its $2 ticket.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Golden Casket when she scratched three identical symbols on her winning ticket she couldn’t believe her eyes.

“I didn’t believe what I was seeing, I was so shocked! I handed the ticket to my partner so he could check I wasn’t seeing things,” the stunned winner explained.

“When he confirmed that I had three winning symbols we jumped in the car and drove straight to the newsagency to have the ticket checked through the lottery terminal.

“It wasn’t until the newsagent owner told me it was a winning ticket that I let myself believe the news! I just couldn’t stop shaking after I realised I had just won $100,000.”

When asked how she was planning on spending her instant windfall, the winner said she knew straight away.

“First, some of the money will be going to charity. That’s non-negotiable,” the winner said.

“I’ll invest the rest of the money. It’s got to last me a long time so I’ll ensure I make the right decisions and make it last.

“I’ll keep buying Instant Scratch-Its tickets. I always buy a few of the $2 tickets because they’re fun and easy to play.”

The top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its $2 ticket was purchased at Pomona News and Casket, 10 Memorial Avenue, Pomona.
