With Queensland  in having an injury plagued build-up, and a number of key players in serious doubt, NSW  are firm favourites to wrap up the series in Sydney on Wednesday night.

Down 1-0, the Maroons originally named a 22-man squad to cover for injured stars Greg Inglis, Billy Slater and Daly Cherry-Evans, who are all battling to be fit. Rookies Ben Hunt and Anthony Milford have been selected, with Jacob Lillyman, Will Chambers and Willie Tonga also added to an extended squad.

Inglis and Slater trained strongly on Sunday before the team headed to Sydney, but Cherry-Evans didn't take any part in the session. If they pull up well, GI and 'Billy the kid' are both expected to play, but DCE will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness. Broncos halfback Ben Hunt has trained at number 7 and is ready to step in if the Manly half doesn't measure up in time.

The Blues have made limited changes to their successful 17. With the Morris twins ruled out through injury, Will Hopoate is on the wing and Josh Dugan in the centres. Greg Bird returns from suspension at lock, forcing captain Paul Gallen to the front-row, with James Tamou relegated to the bench. Interchange player Tony Williams was been dropped.

After his Game 1 performance, Blues fullback Jarryd Hayne  sits at the top of the TattsBet 1st Try Scorer Market. After crossing twice in the series opener, Queenslander Darius Boyd  and origin’s all-time leading try scorer, Greg Inglis , are also popular. Making his first origin appearance in three seasons, Will Hopoate is well-fancied too.
