Why watch?
In their fourth season, Gold Coast can no longer be taken lightly and possess one of the most exciting lists in the AFL. Any match with Gary Ablett playing is worth tuning into. The little genius 'only' had 24 disposals last week so except him to come out firing in this one. But it's not just the dual Brownlow Medalist, the Suns have the likes of Dion Prestia, Jaeger O'Meara, David Swallow etc who are all making names for themselves with quality performances. The Lions have been far from disgraced in their opening two matches against powerhouses Hawthorn and Geelong and are definitely no easy beats. This will be an intriguing contest with plenty of heat in it and could go right down to the wire.

Match notes

- Suns are QClash favourites for the first time
- Harley Bennell suffered a setback in his recovery from a calf injury and will miss another two weeks
- Tom Rockliff will return for the Lions after serving his one-match suspension
- Brisbane have only lost the first three matches of a season once (2011) since 1998

Say what?
"It's obviously an important game for us now that we've lost the first two games of the season," Lion Sam Mayes said. "It's an important one to win so we'll be going out all guns blazing this weekend."

Last 5 between clubs

Fantasy factoid
Pearce Hanley was one of the Lions' best last week with 32 disposals and six marks. Always in the thick of the action, Hanley was a strong contributor in both his matches against the Suns last year.

Cold hard fact
Brisbane have won the last five matches between the two sides.

Final Word

The Suns are deserved favourites based on their first two performances, but it would be folly to discount the Lions. Gold Coast are also coming off a taxing clash in Perth and that could be a factor late in this match. We think the Lions will continue their winning streak over the Suns in a tight one.
