Sea Eagles:
Raiders: LWLLW

Both of these teams are coming off thrilling wins last week, but not without their fair share of controversy. The Manly Sea Eagles  beat the courageous North Queensland Cowboys in the final stages of the game; while the Canberra Raiders  came from two tries down to topple the Melbourne Storm. Both games were riddled with refereeing blunders, but still managed to entertain until the very end.

The signing of Glenn Stewart to the South Sydney Rabbitohs has come as a shock, with the Silvertails hoping to retain the representative back rower. But with the club close to re-signing both Peta Hiku and Jorge Taufua, it’s not all doom and gloom on the beach. With Kieran Foran out for a month with a knee injury, Jamie Lyon moves to five-eighth and Daly Cherry-Evans returning at halfback. Anthony Watmough (elbow) and Jason King (groin) are both in doubt.

Following a stunning come-from-behind win over the Storm on Sunday, Canberra should be brimming with confidence. Jack Wighton is beginning to make the five-eighth spot his own, Terry Campese is regaining some terrific form, and Josh McCrone is adding that punch off the bench. It’s no wonder the Green Machine has named an unchanged line-up, with Jake Foster the 18th man.

The match-up between Josh Papalii and Justin Horo is definitely going to be one to watch, but the fortress that is Brookvale Oval will be just too much for the Raiders.
