Without a win at Old Trafford in its past three starts, Manchester United is looking to give fans something to smile about when it faces Aston Villa on Saturday night (AEST). But with their club struggling in 7th on the EPL ladder, supporters aren’t buying it.

Furious United fans have hired a plane which will buzz the ground with a banner demanding David Moyes be sacked as manager. It’s another distraction the champions don’t need as they look for finish off the season positively. In his first season as Sir Alex Ferguson’s hand-picked successor, Moyes is in charge of the Red Devils’ worst ever EPL campaign. The visual protest will read ‘Wrong One – Moyes Out’. The fans are disappointed with the coach’s excuses and the way the side is playing.

On the pitch, United has to bounce back from the Manchester derby derby it lost 3-0 to City and cast aside premature thoughts of taking on Bayern Munich midweek in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter final tie. The return from suspension of captain Nemanja Vidic will help the homeside.

On a positive note, the out-going champs have an excellent record against Villa, having won the last six meetings and are undefeat in nine encounters in all competitions. At Villa Park in December, United thumped Paul Lambert’s men 3-0 . However, they are a show of their former selves having won the corresponding fixture 11 months ago 3-0.

Villa is comfortable in 12th position and still an outside chance of snatching a top 10 finish. But a repeat of the last start 4-1 loss to Stoke won’t help.
