The Strikers travel to Perth on Monday night to tackle last season’s champions, the Scorchers .

It was a talented roster that saw Perth claim their first ever Big Bash League in the 2013/14 season, and once again they take the field as one of the danger teams. Michael Klinger has improved in every season of the competition, and he looks to be a real underrated signing for the Scorchers. The 34-year-old is shaping up to do the damage with the bat, while last season’s coup Yasir Arafat will be aiming for another solid season with the ball. The Pakistani seam bowler managed 12 wickets in 24 overs last campaign, and he’s to take the most wickets for the hosts.

The Strikers were triumphant in the competition opener last Thursday, upsetting the Melbourne Stars by eight wickets. Kane Richardson shone in the bowling department, taking two wickets in his three over spell for just 20 runs. The Adelaide outfit restricted the Stars to a meagre total of 148 runs, which they had few problems running down. Tim Ludeman produced a man of the match performance for the Strikers and broke records in the process. The 27-year-old managed 92 runs off 44 balls, racking up the fastest half century in Big Bash League history.

From what we saw on Thursday night, the Strikers are shaping up to be one of the leading contenders in BBL4. However, they are coming up against the defending champions, and as the betting suggests, this is poised to be a well-balanced encounter.
