Arizona host Seattle on Monday (AEST) looking to secure the NFC West Division .

After a 9-1 start to the season, the best in the Cardinals' history, Arizona dropped the ball so to speak, losing to both the Seahawks and the Falcons in consecutive weeks and losing their grip on the NFC West title. But after getting back to winning ways, beating both the Chiefs and the Rams in tight games, they are back in contention for their maiden Super Bowl trophy . They will again have to use another quarterback on Monday, with second string Drew Stanton injuring his right knee against the Rams last Friday. Ryan Lindley has gotten the nod over rookie Logan Thomas, despite failing to record a single touchdown in his two seasons at Arizona. This means the Cardinals will need to rely on their defence to seal a victory over Seattle.

A 10-4 record means Seattle needs just one more victory to guarantee their spot in the playoffs this season. But to secure the NFC West Division , they need to beat both the Cardinals and the Rams in their final games of the season. Their victory over the Cardinals a month ago kick started a four game winning streak, which included a 17-7 victory over their arch rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, last Monday. QB Russell Wilson has finally found the form that saw him win his first Super Bowl ring last season. In the last three games, he has passed for 667 yards for five TD’s at a completion rate of 65%. Impressive stats given he was under 50% almost two months ago.

If the Cardinals can claim a victory on Monday, not only will they have secured the NFC West title, but they will also have had their best regular season in 90 years. It could also mean three potential postseason games at home, given that Super Bowl XLIX will be held in Arizona. However with Wilson finding form and Seattle leading the league for rushing yards (168.8), it will be a tall order to even cover the spread (+7.5) .
