Coming off consecutive Cup victories at Ararat and Ballarat, rejuvinated galloper Mujadale looks the one to beat in a competitive Werribe Cup (2600m).

The seven-year-old trained by Paul Jones at Stawell was always handy winning the Ararat Cup (2000m) by 1.3 lengths and then led all the way in taking out the Ballarat Cup (2200m) by 3.3 lengths. For this listed event, the son of Mujahid rise from 55kg to 59kg and meets topweight Hurdy Gurdy Man 2.5kg worse for beating him by 3.6 lengths last outing.

From the powerful Darren Weir yard, Hurdy Gury Man finished second in this event 12 months ago behind Pelicano and should be ready to strike his best after four runs back from a nine month spell. Weir also saddles up import Mobaco , which has been somewhat disappointing since arriving from the U.K.

Others with claims include Benalla Cup winner Commanding Time, which has been competitive in four runs in town since, consistent mare Spinderbella (who boasts recent victories at Caulfield and Moonee Valley), Peter Moody's promising stayer Cadillac Mountain and the in-from Averau, which has won three of its last four.
