Arizona face St. Louis in Missouri on Friday (AEST) focused on one goal, making it to the playoffs.

It was a dream start for the Cardinals in the 2014/15 season. After their victory over the Lions in November, they were 9-1 and looked set to finish atop of the NFC West Division . While they remain on top of the mountain, a loss to the Falcons and arch rivals Seattle in the last three weeks has them one loss away from handing over the mantle. Last week against the Chiefs, they showed their determination, leaving victorious after trailing 14-6 at halftime. However, the Cardinals continue to lose favour with TattsBet customers, sitting behind Dallas in the futures market.

Unfortunately for the Rams, their season is over. Mathematically they can still make the playoffs , but they would require all top teams to lose all of their remaining games, which is highly unlikely. Some huge positives for St. Louis are the fact that they have kept their opponents scoreless in the last two weeks. Against the Raiders a fortnight ago, they were ruthless, notching up 52 points, with running back Tre Mason scoring a hat-trick of touchdowns. Last week against the Redskins, they weren’t as convincing in attack but still managed to rack up 24 points. Second string quarterback Shaun Hill has had a breakout season, with the former Lion posting 895 yards in six games, as well as six TDs.

The last time these two met in St. Louis, the home side stunned the visitors by pulling off a miraculous 27-24 victory. But the Cardinals are the dark horse of the competition this season, and with their sights set on a maiden Super Bowl trophy, it seems nothing can stop them, not even a red hot Tre Mason, who is favourite for the first TD .
