The Group 2 Zipping Classic (2400m) is a race high-profile owner Lloyd Williams won four times with his grand stayer Zipping when it was known as the Sandown Classic. The race now recognises Zipping's amazing feat and Williams has two moons rising in the feature event on the Sandown Hillside track this Saturday.

Team Williams will be represented by 2012 Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon and last year's Herbert Power winner Sea Moon . Green Moon is over a hoof problem which ruled him out of the Melbourne Cup before final acceptances, while an elevated temperature saw Sea Moon scratched on race eve.

If we get a 'full moon' from either 'Green' or 'Sea', these classy performers would be hard to beat, especially with the top line line stayers already spelling. Sea Moon, however, is coming off a nine-length last of 18 in Admire Ratki's Caulfield Cup, and although better, Green Moon was a disappointing ninth in the same event.

After a top 10 finish in the Melbourne Cup, Andre Fabre's French stayer would love to say Au Revior to Australia with the $210,000 winner's cheque, while import Spillway is also a strong contender.

The 2014 Zipping Classic is loaded with Cup winners - Green Moon was the 2012 Melbourne Cup champ, Rialya has a Tatts and Adelaide Cup, Prinze Of Penzance was successful in the Moonee Valley Gold Cup, Count Of Limonade recently saluted in the Moe Cup and Epingle pulled off the Hobart/Launceston Cup double in February.

The nine-event card at Sandown, which brings down the curtain on the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, features two Group 2s, four Group 3s and three Listed Races.
