Sydney retiree scratches $250,000 top prize!

Wednesday 12 November, 2014 - A woman from Sydney’s western suburbs said she wouldn’t let herself believe she’d scratched the $250,000 top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its Crosswords ticket in case she’d make a mistake!

The retiree, who wishes to remain anonymous, was overwhelmed when it was confirmed by NSW Lotteries that she was a quarter of a million dollars richer!

“I initially thought I’d scratched $10,000. Then when I re-checked my Instant Scratch-Its ticket, I realised I’d won the $250,000 top prize but I wouldn’t let myself believe in case I was wrong!” the excited winner explained.

“It was hard to take it in because I’ve only ever won $20 here or $7 there!

“I’ve got lots of family and I really want to share this prize money with them. I’ll maybe go on a holiday – something I couldn’t afford to do normally!”

The winning Instant Scratch-Its Crosswords ticket was purchased at Carlingford Court Newsagency, Shop 119, 801 – 809 Pennant Hills Road in Carlingford.
