Trash is treasure in Morwell for $1 million winner!

Friday 7 November, 2014 - They say ‘One man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ and it couldn’t be truer in the case of a Latrobe Valley man who upturned his bin this week to fish out a Wednesday Lotto ticket worth $1 million!

The winning man had mistakenly disposed of his registered ticket only to discover it was worth $1,000,000 thanks to a phone call from Tatts!

“I’ve just had to tip the bin over to find the ticket! I must have thrown it out with other things from my wallet,” the winner explained.

“This prize money will certainly make life easier, but I suppose all lotto winners would say that! “I’m planning to celebrate with a drink and start planning how to use the prize,” he added.

The winning Wednesday Lotto 36-game QuickPick ticket was purchased from Morwell Newsagency, 174-176 Commercial Road, Morwell. The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.

The winning numbers in Wednesday Lotto draw 3397 on Wednesday 5 November, 2014 were 13, 28, 34, 43, 37 and 4 with the supplementary numbers of 21 and 17. Along with the $1 million prize won in Victoria, two $1 million prizes were also won in New South Wales in Wednesday’s draw.

Monday & Wednesday Lotto offers players a guaranteed $1 million division one prize for up to four winners every Monday and Wednesday each week.
