Hamilton Hoping To Stretch Lead

F1 drivers make another trip to Asia, this time for the Japanese GP at the Suzuka Circuit.

Former Drivers Championship leader Nico Rosberg had a night to forget in Singapore a fortnight ago, with his Mercedes’ electronics failing in the opening stages of the race. His withdrawal paved the way for teammate Lewis Hamilton to finish on top of the podium and leapfrogging him into top spot on the overall driver’s standings.

Hamilton has a slender three-point lead with five races left in the season, however he is firm favourite to finish ontop of the Driver’s Championship at . The Englishman is also favourite to take out this weekend’s event , with teammate Nico Rosberg second elect at . A win for Hamilton would make be his eighth of the season, whereas Rosberg would pick up his fourth if successful.

Aussie Daniel Ricciardo is hoping to add to his three GP wins this year, and he’s well in commission to do so at . The Red Bull Racing driver is the only remaining mathematical chance of winning the Driver’s Championship , however as his price will tell you, that’s highly unlikely. Ricciardo’s teammate Sebastian Vettel, a  shot to win this weekend, certainly knows his way around the Suzuka Circuit, winning four of the past five Japanese GPs.
