Manchester City and Tottenham go toe-to-toe on Saturday night (AEST) in a blockbuster match to kick off Round 8 of the EPL.

Last week’s international break gave fans time to dissect what has been a frantic start to the season, especially for City. The Sky Blues have won four, drawn two and lost one so far, leaving them in second spot behind Chelsea after seven rounds. City playmaker Yaya Toure may miss the match, depending on when he gets back from an international friendly, however star striker Sergio Aguero is ripe and ready to go. The Argentinian has scored five times already this season, and he’s the favourite to find the net first.

Spurs find themselves sitting in sixth spot heading into Saturday night’s clash, and they’ll be confident after downing high flying Southampton. A goal from Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen was enough to earn Mauricio Pochettino’s men a 1-0  win, and big win in Manchester could see them leapfrog City into second. Belgian midfielder Nasir Chadli has four goals and an assist to his name already this season, however he’s in doubt after picking up a hip injury while on international duty midweek.

Manuel Pelligrini’s side could close the gap between themselves and Chelsea to two points with victory, and they’re overwhelming favourites to do so. Spurs lost to City 6-0 and 5-1 in their two fixtures last season, and you would expect they’ll have their hands full again this weekend.
