Powerball's $50 million draw is TONIGHT!

Thursday, 16 October 2014 - The final countdown has begun with just hours left until tonight’s out-of-this-world $50 million Powerball draw!

Queues are out the doors of lottery outlets around the country as customers dream about what they could change if they shared in tonight’s $50 million jackpot!

Spokesperson Elissa Lewis said the Powerball jackpot level has reached $50 million following six weeks of jackpotting where Powerball players haven’t been able to match the winning numbers for the last five weeks.

“If one player takes home the entire division one prize tonight, it would make them the nation's equal largest Powerball prize winner!” Ms Lewis said.

“They’d share the enviable title with one winner from South Australia who won $50 million in August 2012 and one winner from NSW who won $50 million on Boxing Day last year.

“With $50 million up for grabs, we are expecting queues will continue to grow throughout the afternoon with a last minute lotto frenzy sweeping the nation from 5pm.

“So if you’re planning to purchase an entry in tonight’s $50 million Powerball draw, the best way to avoid disappointment is to ensure you buy your ticket before it’s too late and if you have a players card, don’t forget to register your entry!” Ms Lewis added.

Tickets can be purchased from lottery retail outlets and online from Tatts.com until 8.30pm ADST.
