The TRC 1000 Guineas has drawn together an even field of 12 runners, with Tasmania’s leading stables represented. There’s a mix of experienced starters with solid form and those just out of maiden class hoping to add some black-type success to their resumes.

Frolicked drops back to fillies' grade after contesting the Tasmanian Guineas against the males late last month. In that race, the daughter of Incumbent finished fourth, coming from well back. She looks a solid each way hope. Five weeks after an impressive maiden victory, At The Weekend appears suited over the mile and the Hussonet filly will be given every hope by hoop Anthony Darmanin. At The Weekend is one of three runners for former jumps jockey Adam Trinder.

Bill Ryan’s Iggimacool with Brendon McCoull on-board is a good chance despite drawing wide, while the consistent Geegee Pretty Jess from the powerful Leon Wells yard could be the knock-out horse with the wily Stephen Maskiell in the saddle.

With Melbourne visitors Zedi Knight and Richie’s Vibe scratched in favour of Friday night’s Group 2 Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley, the Stakes field is down to just five runners. Two mares from the Leon Wells stable, Rebel Bride  and Black’N’Tough , dominate the market. Promising sprinter Mister John  is next best. Veteran Youthful Jack  heads into the $100,000 listed weight-for-age event second-up after transferring from the Ross Stitt barn in Taree to Adam Trinder at Spreyton.
