The Eels  welcome superstar fullback Jarryd Hayne back for their clash with the Dragons  on Monday night, looking to end a miserable season on a high note. The New South Wales Origin star has been plagued by injury throughout the year and his importance to the team is best highlighted by the fact that Parramatta is yet to win in 2013 without him. His return pushes Jake Mullaney out of the side, while Fuifui Moimoi has been named to start at prop with Pat O’Hanlon dropping back to the bench in the other changes made to the side that suffered a 64-4 flogging at the hands of defending premier Melbourne last weekend.

Despite suffering their fifth successive defeat when going down 34-18 to the Tigers in round 24, Dragons boss Steve Price has only made a minor change to his squad with playmaker Josh Drinkwater replacing hooker Craig Garvey. Australian international Brett Morris will celebrate his 150th NRL match against the Eels, hopefully with a win.

1st Tryscorer

Despite featuring just 14 times for Parramatta this season, Jarryd Hayne  is the joint-top scorer for the club in 2013 with eight tries. He will be the focal point for his side in an attack that has scored fewer points than any other team in the competition during the current campaign.

Brett Morris  is just two tries short of a hundred in first grade and wouldn’t it be fitting if he brought up his ton in his milestone 150th outing. He has been a fine servant for the club and is also the Dragons most potent attacking weapon.

Prediction

Having beaten the Eels 32-12 when the clubs met in round ten earlier this season, the Dragons have now gone seven matches without defeat against the Dragons but may be hard pressed keeping that unbeaten run going. As crazy as it is to tip the side languishing at the foot of the table, everything seems to be falling into place for the Eels here with Hayne returning and the match to be played at Parramatta Stadium, the scene of all four victories this year.
