The Knights  welcome veteran Danny Buderus back into the ranks for their match against the Titans  on Sunday afternoon, where they will be bidding to snap a four game losing run that stretches back to their win over the Bulldogs halfway through last month. Buderus hasn’t played since undergoing back surgery following the clubs round four match against the Raiders and his experience will be a big boost to a side that couldn’t finish the Storm off two weeks ago despite leading 14-6.

Greg Bird and Nate Myles are both expected to back up for the Titans after coming through Origin unscathed, while David Mead replaces injured centre Brad Takairangi in the side after recovering from a broken jaw. Dave Taylor is unlikely to be risked after injuring his sternum in his sides 18-12 win over Melbourne on Monday, while Ashley Harrison will play his 100th match for the club.

Prediction

Newcastle has struggled in the past eight weeks, with just one win to its name since beating the Titans 30-6 at Skilled Park in round seven. The Gold Coast was severely undermanned that afternoon following injuries to Ashley Harrison, Matt Srama and Luke O’Dwyer however and will put up a much better fight at Hunter Stadium despite having won just two of their six away matches in 2013. They were 24-14 victors here last season and can heap further misery on the struggling Knights. Gold Coast Titans by 6
