TattsLotto prize claimed by Wangaratta pensioner!

Tuesday 14 May, 2013 - A Wangaratta man has finally come forward to claim his division one TattsLotto prize worth more than $800,000 over a week after the draw took place.

The pensioner in his 60s won a first division prize of $832,269.66 in TattsLotto draw 3317 on Saturday 4 May, but had neglected to check his ticket until a week later.

“I only think to check my TattsLotto tickets when I go to the shops to buy a new one the following week, so I had no idea I’d won until I bought another ticket on the weekend,” the winning man said.

“I’ve probably been playing as long as TattsLotto has been around, so just over 40 years.

“I’m renting at the moment so now I’ll actually be able to buy my first home. I think I’ll look at buying a unit.

“I’ll also buy a new car, and probably keep the rest of the prize money. I’ll have to speak to a financial bloke about investing.”

The winning 24-game QuickPick TattsLotto entry was purchased from West End Lotto, 51a Phillipson Street in Wangaratta. The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.

Tatts spokesperson Zoe Knobel said Tatts encourages all players to register their lottery purchases to a Tatts Card.

“As this winning TattsLotto entry was not registered to a Tatts Card, we were unable to contact the winner with the good news following the draw,” Ms Knobel said.

“We’re very pleased that the winner has now come forward to claim his prize so he can start house-hunting!” Ms Knobel added.

Throughout Australia, there were five entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on 4 May 2013, each worth $832,269.66. Apart from the winning entry sold in Wangaratta, there were two winning entries from Tasmania, and one each in Queensland and Western Australia.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3317 on 4 May 2013 were 12, 35, 30, 2, 13 and 20 with the supplementary numbers 7 and 1.

In the most recent TattsLotto draw 3319 on 11 May 2013, seven entries around the country shared in the $21 Million Superdraw prize pool. Two winning entries of $3 million were purchased in Victoria in Ballarat and Melbourne.
