Sunshine Coast couple claim share in $25 million Superdraw!

Monday 8 April, 2013 - They took their time, but finally a Sunshine Coast couple has claimed their division one share in last month’s Saturday Gold Lotto $25 million Superdraw!

Despite waiting two weeks to come forward, the retired couple admitted they’ve known nearly the entire time they were $1,481,784.54 richer.

“I went out and bought the Sunday paper the morning after the $25 million Superdraw and when I got home I decided to check the results,” the excited winner explained.

“Well those numbers just jumped off the page at me. I knew they were our numbers and we’d won!

“I then waited for my wife to wake up and when she did she looked at me and said ‘What’s wrong with you?’ and I said ‘We’ve just won about $1.5 million!’.

“That’s the first time those numbers have come up in 30 years,” he added.

The retired couple, who have chosen to remain anonymous, are now planning to surprise their adult children with the news before putting the money towards their retirement and spending a little on the house.

The winning registered entry was purchased from Tewantin Newsagency, 107 Poinciana Avenue in Tewantin.

There were 17 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto’s $25 million Superdraw on 23 March.
