Mick Potter and Trent Robinson have named near full strength teams for the seventh annual Foundation Cup between the Sydney Roosters  and Wests Tigers  at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night, with a host of Roosters stars on show for the first time in 2013. Mitchell Pearce, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Aidan Guerra and recent signing Luke O’Donnell will play a part after not featuring in the club’s 20-4 victory over Manly last weekend. League star come union convert come boxer Sonny Bill Williams has been ruled out as he continues his recovery from a torn pectoral muscle.

Hard working backrower Liam Fulton returns to the squad for the first time during the preseason, while off-season recruits Braith Anasta, Bodene Thompson and Eddy Pettybourne will all feature for the Tigers. Aaron Woods, Lote Tuqiri and Matt Groat are amongst the players unavailable for new boss Mick Potter.

1st Tryscorer – Former Panthers star Michael Jennings  is set be joined in the centres by Shaun Kenny-Dowall for the first time and the pair will form one of the most dangerous centre pairings in the competition. He was on the scoresheet against the Sea Eagles last weekend and will be determined to continue his impressive pre-season form.

Marika Koroibete  was the talk of the NRL at the back end of last year after scoring seven tries in the final six matches for the Tigers. The flying Fijian crossed the line in Saturday’s 41-4 trial win over the Eels and will be hungry for more ‘meat pies’.

Match Prediction – While it is hard to ignore the fact that the Roosters hold a 5-1 advantage over the Tigers in this fixture, Wests go into this match with more match fitness under their belt. All of their key men have a game under their belts, while several of the Roosters important players are suiting up for the first time this season. Wests Tigers 1-12
