South Australia  will be looking to secure a berth in the Ryobi Cup final with a win over New South Wales  at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday. Despite losing to Victoria on Saturday, the Redbacks are still well placed to reach the decider having won four of their opening six matches. The Blues on the other hand are out of the running having scored just their second win of the season with a 37 run victory against Tasmania on Monday.

Brad Haddin  and Ben Rohrer  will line up for New South Wales less than 24 hours after representing Australia in a Twenty20 International against the West Indies in Brisbane, with the pair booked to fly back to Sydney on Thursday morning. Chris Tremain is the other player added to the squad, with the paceman brought in for Doug Bollinger, who has been rested. David Dawson  will keep his place at the top of the order having scored 124* earlier in the week, but Tim Cruickshank and Daniel Hughes could make way for the returning internationals.

The Redbacks could welcome Travis Head  back into their side after being hit by a car on January 28 and will be a welcome addition to the top order in the absence of leading scorer Phil Hughes, who is with the Test team in India. Callum Ferguson  will be looking to continue his fine form after scoring 110 against the Bushrangers in their last match, while Michael Klinger  will look to build on the three half centuries he has scored in the competition this season.
