Reds Look To Right Road Form

Liverpool has been dominant at home this season but the Reds’ away form has been ordinary of late. They’ve lost two of their last three on the road, including a surprise 3-1 defeat at the hands of Hull City at the start of December. They bounced back from that with a 5-1 win over Norwich City followed by a 4-1 demolition of West Ham, but they get another big test this weekend heading to London to take on Tottenham .

Spurs, on the other hand, have been excellent on the road but haven’t been able to back that up at White Hart Lane. They’ve collected just 11 of a possible 21 points at home including surprise losses to Newcastle United and West Ham. Roberto Soldado netted a hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Anzhi Makhachkala in the Europa League midweek giving the north Londoners maximum points from the group stage. Tottenham would love to carry that goalscoring form in to this match; Spurs have scored just 15 goals this campaign, the same as Luiz Suarez, alone.

The Reds will be without Steven Gerrard until January after he picked up a hamstring injury in the win over the Hammers. Jordan Henderson should be fit though after picking up a minor problem in that same match while veteran Daniel Agger could return to the starting XI.

Tottenham has won the last five matches at the Lane between the teams. Remarkably, four of those victories came by a 2-1 scoreline.
