Seattle surged to a 5-1 record last week with a 20-13 win over Tennessee, but it was on the back of one of the team’s sloppiest performances in some time. A botched field goal at the end of the first half led to the Titans’ only touchdown, while Marshawn Lynch fumbled the ball in the fourth on the two-yard line, so the Seahawks did their best to throw the ‘W’ away.

While Russell Wilson and the Seahawks sit atop the NFC West, three teams, including Arizona , are breathing down their necks. The Cardinals have already had two losses within the division – they crashed 32-20 against the 49ers in Week 6 – but at 3-3 they will certainly be in the mix if they can knock off Seattle on Friday morning (AEST).

The Cards have some issues on offence, though. The fact Seahawks QB Wilson has 35 more running yards than Arizona’s leading rusher Rashard Mendenhall says loads about the home side’s lack of a ground game. Seattle has stopped the likes of Frank Gore, Chris Johnson and Arian Foster this weekend, so the Seahawks will have no worries stopping the run. Quarterback Carson Palmer is hardly setting the world on fire, either; he was picked off twice last week which makes it 11 interceptions this season, and he’s completing less than 60 per cent of his passes. Larry Fitzgerald is still a major deep threat while Michael Lloyd is a quality receiver, but after that there is a lack of talent amongst the wideouts, especially with Fitzgerald carrying a hamstring injury.

The Seahawks’ turnovers kept the Titans in the game last week, and this week they come up against a Cardinals defence which has eight picks already this season, with three of those going to Patrick Peterson. Their pass rush might lose one of its big weapons, though, with Calais Campbell struggling to overcome a neck injury.

The Seahawks thrashed the Cardinals in their last meeting 58-0 in Seattle in December last year. The Cards won their clash exactly three months earlier in the desert coming away with a 20-16 victory. The Seahawks have come away with just one win from their previous seven visits to Phoenix.
