Battler gobsmacked by Powerball win!

Friday 4 January, 2013 - A family man who described himself as a battler was gobsmacked when hearing the news of his multi-million dollar division one prize in last night’s Powerball draw!

The man, from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, was the only division one winner in last night’s Powerball draw 868.

The winner, who purchased his entry online at Tatts.com, said he was in shock this morning after discovering he’d won $26,318,941.80.

“I’m gobsmacked!” he exclaimed.

“To be honest I’m not sure how to react right now, it’s all a bit unreal.

“I regularly play Powerball and have been buying my entries online for a few years now but I didn’t ever think I would win.”

The winner said he’s got a few plans for how to spend his windfall.

“First I’ll pay off the mortgage and some other debts and for the time being I’ll invest the rest,” he said.

“But right now I think I’ll have a drink to celebrate.”

The winning entry was purchased online at Tatts.com and because the winner purchased a PowerHit entry, in addition to the $25 million division one prize, the winner has also won $1,318,941.80 in division two.

The winning numbers were 35, 30, 24, 26 and 23. The Powerball number was 32.
