Malcolm Page and Matthew Belcher  are on the verge of collecting Australia’s third sailing gold medal of the London Olympics, with the pair holding a four point advantage over their nearest pursuers going into the gold medal race of the Men’s 470 class. Belcher and Page teamed up to win gold in each of the past three World Championships, while Page also won gold with Nathan Wilmot at the Beijing Olympics four year ago. Australia will be guaranteed the gold medal if they finish ahead of Great Britain in the gold medal race.

Melissa Gorman  lines up in the gruelling Women’s 10km Marathon swim looking to better her fifteenth placed finish in 2008. Last year the 26 year-old finished fourth in the event at the World Championships in Shanghai.

After claiming silver at last year’s World Championships, Australia  will be confident of a strong showing in the Men’s Kayak Four (K4) 1000m final, while Kathryn Mitchell  will contest the Women’s Javelin final at the Olympic Stadium.

After suffering a heartbreaking extra-time defeat to the USA in the semi-finals, Australia  takes on Hungary for a bronze medal in the Women's water polo tonight. The 'Stingers' have claimed a medal in two of the three Olympic Games which have featured the sport.
