Following a clinical innings victory at The Oval in the 1st Test, South Africa  will be out to wrap up their three match series against England  when the teams meet at Headingley on Thursday. The tourists lost just two wickets in amassing 2/637 in the series opener, which included 311* from Hashim Amla  and an unbeaten 182 from Jaques Kallis . The bowlers also did the job for the Proteas, with Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel particularly impressive. Although it will be difficult to change a winning team, Thami Tsolekile may take the gloves off AB de Villiers, with Jacques Rudolph or JP Duminy most likely to miss out.

Despite being convincing outplayed in London, England has resisted the urge to make sweeping changes, with Ravi Bopara the only player missing from the playing eleven at The Oval. James Taylor  has been drafted into the squad and will reinforce an underperforming batting lineup that was once again led by Alistair Cook , who scored a first innings century. Graham Onions and Steven Finn present new options with the ball and could both be in contention after England only managed to take two wickets in the series opener.

The past twelve Test matches at Headingley have all produced a result, with the most recent draw  at the ground coming when England drew with Pakistan here in 1996.
