Casey Stoner  will be looking to make amends for last week’s disappointing result in Germany when he lines up at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday night (AEST). The Australian rider crashed out on the final lap in Germany when in second place, allowing arch rival Jorge Lorenzo to open up a twenty point lead over him in the championship standings. Stoner won around the fast Mugello circuit in 2009 and will be hoping to repeat that success, although it won’t be any easy task. Teammate Dani Pedrosa  won here two years ago and will go into the race full of confidence after winning for the first time in 2012 last week.

Lorenzo  will be optimistic of repeating last year’s win in Italy, while local favourite Valentino Rossi  will be looking to add to the seven wins that he collected here between 2002 and 2008.
