2002 Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt  will be hoping to rediscover his best form when he faces world number six Jo-Wilfried Tsonga  in the first round at the All England Club tonight. The former world number one has been hampered by injuries over the past couple of years and has played just five events this year, suffering first round defeats in all of them except the Australian Open, where he bowed out to Novak Djokovic in the round of sixteen.

Tsonga has a 29-12 record in 2012 and will be looking to build on his strong showing at Wimbledon last season, where he reached the last four following an epic win over Roger Federer in the quarter finals after coming from two sets down. The big Frenchman has won both of the meetings between the pair in straight sets  and will be confident of notching another win against the tour veteran tonight.

Australia’s great hope for the tournament is Bernard Tomic . The teenager is the twentieth seed in London and begins his campaign against Belgian wildcard David Goffin , who proved what a dangerous player he can be by advancing to the 4th round at the French Open.

Other Aussie’s in action on day two include Matt Ebden , who faces Frenchman Benoit Paire , Casey Dallacqua  who takes on 2007 finalist Marion Bartoli , and sixteen year-old Ashleigh Barty  who faces a stiff task against 21st seed Roberta Vinci .
