Liverpool  and Chelsea  meet in the penultimate round of the 2011/12 English Premier League season on Wednesday morning (AEST), just three days after their FA Cup Final showdown at Wembley which Chelsea won 2-1 .

The Kop have had little to celebrate at Anfield this season, with just five home wins in the league, their lowest return since 1949. The bid to win the final home game of the campaign has been struck a blow with both Charlie Adam and Lucas set to miss the match after being ruled out of the rest of the season with knee injuries.

Languishing in sixth place on the table, the Chelsea’s away form has been problematic in the past couple of months with the Blues collecting just seven points from a possible 24 in their past eight matches away from Stamford Bridge. John Obi Mikel and Raul Meireles will both be absent after picking up knocks on Saturday.

When these clubs met in the League earlier in the season, Liverpool ran out 2-1  victors thanks to an 87th minute winner from fullback Glen Johnson.
