Gai Waterhouse has won the Golden Slipper on three occasions and looks well placed to add another to her impressive resume with a strong team of juveniles being aimed at the race. Unbeaten Pierro  leads her team, although he is ably supported by the likes of Magic Millions quinella Driefontein  and No Looking Back  as well as Raceway , who was last seen when finishing third in the Skyline Stakes at Randwick.

Impressive group one Blue Diamond winner Samaready  is unbeaten in four starts and will be hard to beat based on her strong win in the Reisling Stakes, but she is not the only Victorian galloper eyeing off the world’s richest race for two year-olds. Black Caviar’s half-brother All Too Hard  was an effortless winner of the group two Sires Produce Stakes at Flemington and will make his presence known if the Hawkes team decide to contest the race with him.
