Miami Masters Quarterfinals

Spaniard Rafael Nadal  faces world number six Jo-Wilfried Tsonga  in the quarterfinals of the Miami Masters on Thursday morning (AEST). The three time Miami finalist knocked 16th seed Kei Nishikori out in straight sets  while Tsonga powered past 19th seed Florian Mayer 6-3 6-2. The pair have met on nine occasions, with Nadal having won six of those contests although the Frenchman won the most recent meeting, at the year ending World Tour Finals last year to take his record to two wins in the past three clashes.

Andy Murray  faces Serbian Janko Tipsarevic  earlier in the day, while top seed Victoria Azarenka  takes on Marion Bartoli  and Venus Williams  faces Agnieszka Radwanska  in the remaining two women’s quarterfinals.
