Manchester City will fight to stay in touch with arch rivals Manchester United when they battle Chelsea on Thursday morning. City have slipped to second position in recent weeks and now sit four points behind United on the Premier League ladder.

Roberto Mancini’s men will need to be at their best to compete with a resurgent Chelsea who have lost only two of their past nine matches. The blues will be full of confidence heading into the match after recording an emphatic 5-2 victory over Leicester City highlighted by a quality performance from star striker Fernando Torres who looks to have returned to form.

The two clubs have already met once this campaign, with Chelsea coming from behind to record a 2-1 home win.
