John Senden  will be looking to put an Australian Open final round capitulation behind him when he tees off at the Australian PGA Championship in Coolum on Thursday. After taking a two stroke lead into the final round at The Lakes Golf Club last week, the 41 year-old shot 82 on Sunday to see his chances of a first tournament win since 2006 go begging. While the world number 38 is the highest ranked player in the field he is hard to fancy having spent so long out of the winners circle.

Popular veteran Peter Senior  rolled back the years with his Australian Open win last week and will be hoping for more of the same at Coolum where he was victorious in both 2003 and 2010. Last year’s winner Greg Chalmers  is back to defend his crown, while Robert Allenby  (2005, 2009), Geoff Ogilvy  (2008), Peter Lonard  (2002, 2004, 2007) and Nick O’Hern  (2006) are other previous winners in the lineup.

2011 British Open winner Darren Clarke  is also in the field, as is Australian golfing legend Greg Norman , who lifted the trophy in 1984 and 1985.
