how to claim prizes
Having a win of any amount is an exciting event and, for some lucky customers, it can be life changing. Because prize values can range from a few dollars to a few million dollars, there are a number of ways for you to claim your lotto or Instant Scratch-Its prize.
claim in person
- Winners Circle members
For Winners Circle members it's easy to check if you've won a prize. Have your card scanned in-store at a Golden Casket Outlet and the gaming terminal will let you know if you have any unclaimed prizes. All prizes less than $1,500 can be claimed at any Golden Casket Outlet that sells lotto games by presenting your Winners Circle card together with your winning ticket (for prizes of $1,500 and over please read item 3). This is an important security feature which further protects your prizes from being claimed by anyone but you. If you forget to claim a prize we'll automatically send you a prize cheque 4 weeks after the draw^.
- Prizes less than $1,500 may be claimed at any Golden Casket Outlet that sells lotto games or Instant Scratch-Its tickets. Some outlets, at their discretion, may pay prizes higher than $1,500 (up to outlet's payout limit authorised by Golden Casket).
- Prizes $1,500 and over may be claimed in person at Golden Casket Lottery Corporation, 87 Ipswich Road, Woolloongabba, Brisbane, Queensland 4102. These prizes will be paid by cheque or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). To collect your prize in person at Golden Casket, you will need:
- The original lotto ticket, or Instant Scratch-Its ticket and
- Signature identification such as a Drivers Licence or Passport
- For registered tickets, the Winners Circle card to which the ticket is registered
- Claiming a prize on someone's behalf at Golden Casket
If claiming all or part of a prize from a winning lotto ticket which is registered to a Winners Circle card on someone else's behalf, you will also need a signed letter of authorisation and signature identification for the claimant and the registered player(s).
- First division prizes
First division prizes are only available for payment from the first business day two weeks following the draw. All lower division prizes are available from 8:30am on the next business day after the draw.

download the Prize Claim Form
Download and complete the Prize Claim Form, ensuring that the required details from your winning lotto tickets and/or Instant Scratch-Its tickets are included. Your ticket number can be found at the very top of your lotto ticket and the Draw number and date are found just under the final game. For Instant Scratch-Its tickets the game code is found just under the value of the ticket and the Ticket Validation Barcode number can be found at the top of the ticket directly underneath the barcode. Include the completed Prize Claim Form in an envelope together with the ORIGINAL winning lotto tickets and/or Instant Scratch-Its tickets, remembering to keep copies for your own records. If you are making a claim on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket, complete your name, address and signature on the back of the ticket. Affix a postage stamp and post to:

Alternatively, you can pick up a Prize Claim Form at your local Golden Casket Outlet and complete by following the same steps. Your prize payment should be processed and paid within 10 working days of receipt of your claim form by Golden Casket, or after necessary waiting periods as listed.
other important information
lost Lotto/Instant Scratch-Its tickets
Please be careful with your unregistered lotto and Instant Scratch-Its ticket because if it is stolen or you lose it, someone else could use it to claim your prize. Instant Scratch-Its ticket prizes can only be claimed by the original ticket.
Lost unregistered lotto tickets - If your lotto ticket (excludes Instant Scratch-Its tickets) is not registered to a Winners Circle card, you will need to complete a Lost or Damaged Ticket Search form which will assist us in locating your ticket in our lottery system. There is a fee associated with this search. Please read the "Conditions of Search" outlined on the top of this form. All "Conditions of Search" must be adhered to in order for us to conduct the search. If we are successful in locating your ticket a 'Stop Payment' can be placed on the winning lotto ticket, provided that the prize as not yet been paid.

Winners Circle members (lost registered lotto tickets)
If you are a Winners Circle member and you lose your lotto ticket registered to your Winners Circle card, you should call Golden Casket on 131 868. Once we verify your identity we can arrange for a cheque to be mailed to you made out to the name(s) and address of the parties registered on the Winners Circle card.
If you lose your ticket together with your Winners Circle card, call Golden Casket immediately on 131 868 so we can place a 'Stop Payment' on your ticket which will prevent anyone else from claiming your prize, provided that the prize has not yet been paid.
claim within State of purchase
Even though Saturday Gold Lotto, Oz Lotto, Powerball, The Pools and Super 66 are national games, prizes can only be claimed within the State in which the entry was originally purchased. Instant Scratch-Its can be claimed in Queensland, Tasmania or the Northern Territory.
