It seem that as every week passes, the Brisbane Broncos improve. Ben Hunt has grown into a halfback that could earn an Origin jersey. Josh Hoffman is making the No.6 jersey his own. Ben Barba is starting to hit the form everyone was expecting. It is bad news for the Canberra Raiders , who have struggled to find any consistency so far this year.

Even without Justin Hodges terrorising opponents on the right side, the Broncos are showing they are going to be a force at the back end of the season. Destroying the Manly Sea Eagles 36-10 on Sunday further strengthens their premiership credentials. Hunt had moments that proved he is becoming one the premier halfbacks of the competition. The left side play which put Jack Reed over the line was simply perfect. A good halfback watches the defenders feet instead of their body and that’s exactly what Hunt did. Corey Parker was inspirational backing up from Origin, proving he will go down as one of the club's greats. The return of Justin Hodges pushes Dale Copley to the wing and Lachlan Maranta to 18th man.

It’s the question Raiders fans need answered. Is Ricky Stuart the right man? He came back to Australia’s capital with so much promise, but hasn’t delivered. Last Saturday’s 26-12 loss to the Roosters was another nail in the coffin. The failure to lure star fullback James Tedesco is another blow for the Green Machine. Offering the Tigers custodian a very lucrative offer wasn’t enough to keep the 21-year-old from back flipping on his handshake agreement. Also missing out on Kevin Proctor, Mick Ennis and Josh Mansour is another kick in the teeth to the Raiders. “Sticky” has stuck to his guns, naming the same 17 which went down to the Roosters on Saturday.

The return of Hodges will be too much for the Raiders to handle. But if young gun Mitch Cornish gets more game time, the Raiders might just cause an upset.
